With an action-packed program of over 40 events spanning music, sport, food and wine, art and free, family entertainment, the Cairns community has a lot to look forward to during Festival Cairns 2007.
Festival Cairns 2007 will feature a multi-dimensional line up of free and ticketed events combining sport, art, music, culture and good, old-fashioned entertainment. Unfurling over three, action-packed weeks between Saturday 25 August and Saturday 15 September, this year’s program underscores the importance of family while reflecting Cairns and its life-loving community.
Returning in 2007 will be last year’s opening weekend success, Food, Wine and all that Jazz which will be joined by two newcomer events; The TimeOut Concert and The Pier Sportsfest. And then of course, there is the annual line-up of Carnival on Collins, the always-glam, Cairns Amateurs Spring Racing Carnival, The Ergon Energy Lantern Project, Cairns Family Medical Centre's Mural Art Competition and finale favourite, the RACQ Insurance Parade of Lights.

Paradise Palms Country Club will play host to Australia's top touring professionals at the 4th annual North Queensland X-Ray Services Cairns Classic. Played as a part of the Von Nida Tour, the Cairns Classic is North Queensland's premier professional golf tournament with over $100,000 in prize money up for grabs. With Peter Senior leading a field of over 150 of Australia's best pro golfers, the Cairns Classic is an event not to be missed.
More than just a professional golf tournament, the Cairns Classic combines a week of activites designed to promote this great game and engage the community in the North's biggest week of golf.
